On 19 July, 2014, the Foundation released the 'Akshaya Patra Life Skills Handbook'. The book aims to equip and empower children with important skills like interpersonal communication, leadership, stress management and more. The occasion was commemorated with the presence of Chief Guest, Padma Devender Reddy, Honourable Deputy Speaker of the Telangana State Assembly, and other distinguished guests like MLA, Patancheru, G. Mahipal Reddy; District Education Officer, A. Rajeswara Rao; Tahsildhar, Patancheru, Mahipal Reddy and MEO, Patancheru, Paraveena. The occasion also included the inauguration of a 17,000 litre capacity oil tank.
Padma Reddy in her keynote address made special mention of the work The Akshaya Patra Foundation undertakes, and its all-round effort to develop children into successful citizens of modern India. "Children need empowerment by health, physically and mentally, to lead their life successfully. The Akshaya Patra Foundation is a gorgeous organisation which is fulfilling the previous statement and provides strength to students and guides them successfully. I am confident that the students served by Akshaya Patra will be responsible citizens of India who serve the nation well. The Organisation is literally the definition of hygiene with rich values to serve in this regard," she added.
